Holland P. Gary

CFO, Carleton Companies
President, Salt River Capital

Holland Gary is a seasoned investment professional with over 25 years of experience including private equity, real estate, venture capital, and other alternative investments. He is currently a Principal and CFO of Carleton Companies, a fully integrated multifamily real estate platform including development, construction, property management, and financial services through Salt River Capital where he is Founder and President. Mr. Gary serves in principal roles across Carleton’s affiliates with responsibilities including capital sourcing, deal structuring, investment management, governance, marketing strategy, and IT/cyber risk management. He has overseen the investment of over $300 million in capital in these roles.
 
Prior to Carleton, Mr. Gary was COO and an investment committee member for Aldus Equity, a former affiliate of the RREEF division of Deutsche Bank, deploying over $1 billion annually for large public pension plan clients. Mr. Gary’s experience also includes various operational and management roles in venture-backed early-stage companies as well as developing enterprise software and web-based technologies for Fortune 500 Companies.
 
Mr. Gary is active in serving the greater Dallas community and has served on a number of boards. He is a former Board Chair for both the da Vinci School and Greenhill School where he remains a trustee and alumnus. He currently serves as a Trustee for the Southwestern Medical Foundation and a Director for the Hoblitzelle Foundation among other civic roles.
 
Mr. Gary earned an MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurial Management from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania where he was a Joseph Wharton Fellow and Co-Chair of the Wharton Ethics Committee. He earned a BSE in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University where he was an All-Ivy track and field athlete. Holland Gary lives in the Dallas, Texas area with his wife Leila and their two children.
